Best Japanese Restaurant in Cork
Japanese food is one of my favorite food. I had the opportunity to discover Tokyo in 1999. A lot of people think that Japanese food = Sushi, but you have a lot of different flavor and dishes. It’s also a good choice if you would like to change from the traditional Chinese Take-Away or Restaurant, but still attracted by Asian food.
Miyazaki
The Miyazaki is the only Japanese Restaurant in Cork owned by… a Japanese chef. This place is mostly a Take Away. Unfortunately the place is really small if you want to eat there. Only few places at the bar, in front of the window. You can find sushi, but not only: Japanese Curry, Donburi, Bentos, Gyoza…
If you are a Japanese food newbie, some definition:
Donburi (Means Bowl) is a Japanese “rice bowl dish” consisting of fish, meat, vegetables or other ingredients simmered together and served over rice.
Gyoza: Japanese dumplings with cabbage, pork and ginger
Bento (弁当 ): Japanese lunch box
Some dishes are only available to eat in: the different Noodles soup: Ramen, Udon and Soba Noodles Soup.
You also have Day Specials, most of the time around 4 day. This is my favorite Japanese take away in Cork. The food is amazing and authentic.
